Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These terms cover the Noru iOS app. By downloading or using Noru, you agree to them, along with Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to every app distributed through the App Store.

What Noru is

Noru is a personal screen-time tool. It shields apps you choose, enforces a cooldown and a short check-in before you can open them, and gives you an emergency override for when you genuinely need through. It's a tool to help you build awareness and intentional habits — it isn't medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, and it can't guarantee any particular change in your behavior.

Your use of the app

Noru only shields the apps and sites you select, using Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) authorization on your own device. You can change your selection or revoke that authorization at any time in iOS Settings. You're responsible for how you configure and use the app.

Purchases

Noru Premium is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase billed by Apple through the App Store — there are no subscriptions. Billing, receipts, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under its Media Services Terms; we don't process payments or issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the app, and don't use it for anything unlawful. Noru's code, design, and branding belong to Olaf Krawczyk; your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app — not ownership of it.

No warranty

Noru is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or iOS version. Screen-time enforcement depends on Apple's own frameworks, which are outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Noru.

Termination

You can stop using Noru at any time by deleting the app. We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Noru after a change means you accept the new terms.
