App Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy covers the Noru iOS app. Short version: it doesn't send your data anywhere. For the getnoru.app website's own privacy policy, see here.
What we collect
Nothing. Noru has no account, no login, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We — the developer — never receive your screen time, the apps you shield, your check-in answers, or any other activity from the app.
Where your data lives
Your shielded-app selection, cooldown timers, and check-in reflections (the feeling you pick and when) are stored only on your device — in a local database and in Apple's shared app-group storage, which Noru's extensions use to enforce shields. None of it is transmitted over the network, to us or to anyone else.
Your actual screen-time totals are computed by Apple's Screen Time APIs inside a sandboxed Apple extension that runs on your device. Apple's frameworks don't let that data leave the sandbox, and Noru never asks them to.
Notifications
Reminders and cooldown alerts are local notifications scheduled by your device. There is no push notification server and no notification content passes through us.
Purchases
Noru Premium is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment details — Apple handles billing, receipts, and refunds under its own privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Delete the app and everything Noru stored — shield selections, cooldown state, check-in history — is deleted with it. There's nothing left on a server to ask us to remove, because we never had it.
Children
Noru isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, of any age — see above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
